Types of Septic Tanks

Different projects may require different septic tank designs.

Fiberglass Septic Tanks

Fiberglass septic tanks are manufactured from GRP and can be suitable for underground wastewater applications.

Their corrosion resistance and lightweight construction can make transportation and installation practical for many projects.

GRP Septic Tanks

A GRP septic tank uses glass-reinforced plastic construction to provide a durable composite structure.

GRP tanks can be manufactured in different capacities and configurations according to the intended application.

Sectional or Panel Tanks

For some large wastewater storage requirements, sectional tank construction may provide installation flexibility.

However, the appropriate tank design should always be selected according to the engineering requirements of the project.

How to Select the Right Septic Tank Capacity

One of the most important decisions when purchasing a septic tank is selecting the correct capacity.

The required capacity depends on factors such as:

  • Number of occupants
  • Daily wastewater generation
  • Property type
  • Expected usage
  • Retention requirements
  • Frequency of desludging
  • Local regulations
  • Engineering design

A small residential property and a large labour accommodation facility obviously have different wastewater requirements.

For this reason, simply selecting a septic tank based on price or physical size is not recommended.

The capacity should be determined from the project’s wastewater calculations and applicable requirements.
